President Barzani Receives a UK Delegation | |
Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, ( President Masoud Barzani received a high-level diplomatic delegation from the United Kingdom. The delegation was headed by Tobias Ellwood, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Middle East, Africa and Counter Terrorism and was also attended by Frank Baker, the UK Ambassador to Iraq.

During the meeting Mr. Ellwood acknowledged the great role of the Peshmerga forces in the ongoing global effort to rid the Middle East and beyond of the terrorists of the Islamic State. He also made reference to the sacrifices made by the Peshmerga forces and paid his respects to the families and loved ones of those who were perished during these military operations against the terrorists.

President Barzani and the visiting delegation also discussed the Mosul operation and how the excellent cooperation and coordination between Baghdad, Erbil and the Coalition has drastically weakened the terrorists. President Barzani added that the planning for post-liberation Mosul is of great significance to the Kurdistan Region and urged all parties to participate in that challenging task.
